Milestone moment for Upper Rissington Allotments and Tennis Courts

A key moment was reached on Monday 14 November 2022 as the Parish Council agreed to sign an Allotments and Tennis Courts licence.

Ahead of the formal acceptance of the Public Open Spaces, this licence will allow the Parish Council to provide access to residents for both facilities as soon as possible.

Andy Cairns, Chair of the Upper Rissington Parish Council explains, “Until now, access to the Allotments and Tennis Courts would have only been possible once the Public Open Space adoption had been completed. By signing the licence, we have a bridging solution in place, which is even more important during the current economic crisis, and gives residents the ability to start to grow their own fruit and vegetables.”

An allocation draw for the allotments will take place on Monday 21 November 2022 at 1830hrs in the Village Hall. Members of the public are invited to attend and witness the process.

The previous waitlist has now been closed. Those residents who have previously expressed an interest in an allotment plot have been contacted by the Parish Clerk via email or post.

Details on how you can register an interest in having an allotment plot will be added to this website in the coming weeks, along with further information on the opening of the Tennis Courts.
